An anniversary tradition you can keep

Choose something that fits your real life, not just one special year.

A repeatable anniversary ritual can be small: cooking a familiar meal, revisiting a photograph, writing a note or taking a walk in a place you both enjoy. Choose something that works in an ordinary year as well as an exciting one. Leave room for changing budgets, energy and circumstances.

Try saving one photo and one paragraph about the year together. What became easier? What surprised you? What would you like more time for? Keep the answers in a private anniversary entry, without turning the conversation into a scorecard.

The next-anniversary tool can help you make a reminder. The meaningful part is the attention you give one another, not the reminder, the purchase or the size of the celebration.
