Order invitations without over-ordering
Count households and keep a small, deliberate reserve.
An invitation usually goes to a household, while a place card usually belongs to one guest. Work from the right count for each item. Add a modest number of blank or unaddressed invitations for corrections, a keepsake and any late additions you have agreed to allow.
Before placing the full order, request or print one proof. Check names, date, time, venue address, reply instructions and the readability of the smallest text. Ask another person to read it without being told what it should say. A digital preview can hide paper, colour and finishing differences.
Weigh and measure a completed envelope, including inserts, before buying postage. Use your carrier’s current quote rather than an old estimate. Save the final artwork and approved wording in a folder both of you can find.
